My husband and I were privileged to be stewards of a beautiful piece of land in North Carolina for some years. We named the land Res Ipsa which means “it speaks for itself.” Major karma brought us to the land and after years of piecing the story together we released the karma and sold it in September of 2000.

I could write a book about Res and the stories that unfolded there. While the book isn’t in the works I do plan to share some of the stories on this site. This particular one is about a few nature spirits from inside Mother Earth and their experience on Res.

There is a nature kingdom that resides inside Mother Earth. In fact there is a complete society of about 4 million beings we would compare to our human society. There is much history between the two societies and I will share what I know about our connections in the near future but today I want to talk nature.

I am very attuned to the outer Earth Kingdom of Nature Spirits and Elementals. They bring great joy to me. The birds, animals, minerals and plants as well as the water, air and fire of earth have a kingdom of helpers. We have elves, faeries, devas, gnomes, dwarfs and nymphs who assist all of nature in their special way. Every animal, insect, every creature, every botanical creation, every mineral element is cared for by their beautiful beings. And they care for us as well. Like our human world, there is a type of hierarchy and the god of nature is Pan. Our Pan has named himself Peter.

My husband and I love to garden and have learned over the years how to work hand in hand with this special kingdom. They have shown us how to garden naturally to a great extent and the rewards that come from allowing them to do their jobs in a safe environment have been ten thousand fold. It is marvelous to see how they create gardens of their own design. Each season we see plants sprout up that no human has planted. We have seen whole groupings of a particular flower magically move to a completely new location. We put sunflowers out for the birds, squirrels and chipmunks and watch our woods become speckled in beautiful sunflowers all summer. We have learned to let Mother Nature take her course in what lives and dies short of water and minimal nourishment and have been blessed with endless flowers and plants. While our space for a food garden is limited, each year we have great tomatoes, peppers and herbs and we don’t have a problem with birds, squirrels or rabbits eating the crops. We appreciate their respect.

A couple of years ago a friend in Hawaii told us how the inner earth nature kingdom was interested in coming above ground but needed humans as sponsors. So I invited 3 beings to join us and live in peace and harmony in our little world. They were welcomed by the earth kingdom and thus made themselves at home quickly. They took their roles as students seriously and busied themselves with all of the activities of the gardens around our home.

At that time we visited Res Ipsa on a regular basis. Res is a large and rough piece of land. Res is mighty and magnificent. We walked everywhere when visiting as the road we built was very limited. It is wild, with bobcats, rabbits, deer, bear, turkey to name a few of its creatures. It also has a special place in the heart of the land we named Faerie Land. It appeared to be faerie headquarters for the 300 + acres and it was the first place we would head each trip we made. The faeries were always so happy to see us. They would chatter and clap and jump up and down and make us feel so loved and welcomed. There is a stream that runs through their spot trickling over rocks, making tiny waterfalls in which the nymphs played. We would fill our water bottles with their precious liquid.

Well, one particular trip as we were driving the one mile road into the property off the county road, I looked in the back seat and realized the 3 inner earth beings were with us!! I couldn’t believe it. It had been a month since I had invited them to join us in Marietta. I knew I had told the yard we were going to North Carolina and I guess they heard and decided to go with us. We parked the car and began our walk to Faerie Land. As we approached it was very quiet and then several of them showed themselves. They stood with their hands on their hips and were very agitated. The others started peeking their heads out and there was a lot of fear.

They saw the inner earth beings and wanted to know who they were and what they were doing there. It took some time to assure them they came in peace and we finally got permission for them to stay. The fairies relaxed a bit and we continued our visit. As we were leaving Res for the night, the inner earth beings said they wanted to stay on the land. We took a moment to see if it seemed appropriate, and off we went.

The next day we again visited Res and again as we were leaving, this time to head back to Marietta, the inner earth beings said they wanted to stay and experience the wild land. We knew they could not get back to us without our help and it would be a month before we would return. Res agreed they could remain so off we went.

On our next visit we were greeted rather quickly by the threesome. They were worn to a frazzle !! Their clothing was torn and dirty, their hair snarled and they looked horrible!! They jumped in the back set and sat shoulder to shoulder like 3 little kids ready to beat feet out of there. That night they slept in our hotel room and didn’t leave our sides until we returned home.

Our group from inner earth decided no more travel for them! The weather and living conditions in the North Carolina mountains were treacherous compared to the relatively soft life in the suburbs of Atlanta. They said the nature spirits and elementals of the land were not accommodating but to me it was more of a problem of the city slickers roughing it in the wilderness!!

They are still with us. As I write this I am looking out my window into the woods and they are just walking around checking on the plants and getting ready to settle in for the night. They love it here but they do go back inside once in a while. They are teaching the caretakers of this land how to live more peacefully among themselves. And they work with the angels to protect this land and home when storms arise. They tell me more people should invite their kind to live outside mother earth. They have special energies that heal the land.

We are so blessed to know all of these beings and to experience the joy of our partnership on Earth.
